To respond the latest development of COVID-19 pandemic around the globe, Emirates is taking extra measure that go above and beyond the airline industry’s regulatory requirements, ensuring its customers health and utmost comfort during their travel.
On all aircraft departing from its main hub in Dubai, Emirates has implemented an enhanced cleaning and complete disinfection of all cabins. This greater focus in surface cleaning policy is in-line with latest medical finding that COVID-19 virus is primarily transmitted by touch. The airline will use approved eco-friendly chemical proven to kill viruses and germs, leaves a long-lasting protective coating against new contamination of any viruses, bacteria and fungi on surface.
Emirates will also provide customers across its network with added flexibility, choice and value; with their ability to alter their travel dates without change and re-issuance fees. This waiver policy applies to any bookings made before March 31st 2020. Recognizing that some of its members will be significantly impacted by travel restrictions and travel reductions, Emirates Skywards is also providing its Platinum, Gold and Silver members the ability to maintain their current status by fulfilling 80% of their tier travel requirements between March 31st to June 30th 2020. Skywards members which has booked their travel between those dates will be able to benefit from an additional 20% bonus Tier Miles.
